About me
My name is Luca and I am a photographer from Siracusa, son of my land Sicily.
I have a degree in architecture from the University of Rome and I am specialized in digital photography. I would describe myself as 50% athletic and 51% artist.
An athlete is composed of determination, sacrifice, and goals. An artist is composed of heart warmth and boosts of energy. I’m an emotional person with infinite shades; I observe life in all its different colors. You need the capacity to see things with different eyes each time in order to capture the different perspectives, you need to be able to cry and laugh to capture each tear or smile. You need to be willing to live life to the fullest before you can be a photographer. This is what it essentially means being a photographer: conveying emotions. Going back to the origin of the term, the word “photography” literally means “drawing with light”; in this sense it represents the capacity of being able to draw with lights and shadows with the simple gesture of a click. My pictures are an extension of myself; my heart communicates to my eyes what to see and my brain enables my index finger to snap the photograph. I love to capture moments in life and this is essentially what being an artist means to me; an expression enabling me to immortalize emotions. A picture is worth a thousand words. I love to run with nature and sense the aroma my homeland Sicily has to offer. From the beautiful colors and scents of rosemary, basil, lavender, wheat, Laurel, and the smell of the sea and sky of this wonderful land that I call home and that truly inspires me. In each shot a photographer takes it carries with him his feelings and emotions of a lifetime. I love sweets, my favorites in particular are Sicilian Cannoli and pistachio ice-cream. The lens I prefer to use is the 50mm Canon f. 1.2 which I never leave behind.
